5 Signs Your Gut Needs a Reset — and What to Do About Them
If your stomach feels flat in the morning but distended by evening, your gut is asking for help. Five signals — and the protocol that fixes them.
Most people don't realise their gut is in trouble until it's loud. But the gut rarely shouts before it whispers. If you catch the whispers — the small, daily hints that digestion is off-track — you can reset the system in days, not years.
Here are five signals we see every week at VPrime Wellness in guests who end up enrolling in our Gut Reset Protocol. Any one of them on its own is worth noticing. Two or more, and you are overdue for a reset.
1. You feel flat in the morning and bloated by evening
You wake up, look in the mirror, and your belly is soft. By 7 pm, your waistband is tight and your reflection has changed. This is not water retention. It is progressive fermentation — food sitting in a sluggish gut, fed on by the wrong microbes, producing gas as the day goes on.
The fix is not cutting more foods. The fix is restoring transit. When food moves through at the right pace, there is nothing stationary to ferment.
2. "Clean" foods still leave you foggy
You ate a healthy lunch — a salad, maybe some grilled chicken. An hour later, you feel heavy, sleepy, foggy. You wonder if you are suddenly intolerant to something.
Usually, you are not. You have a clearance problem. An overloaded gut communicates with the brain through the vagus nerve. When digestion is hard work, your brain gets the signal to slow down. The fog is not a food reaction — it is a resource reallocation.
3. Bowel movements are irregular — in either direction
This is the most under-reported symptom. People assume "normal" is a wide range. In reality, a healthy gut produces one to two formed, easy, daily bowel movements. Anything less regular, or anything requiring effort, is a flag.
Skipped days mean your colon is holding on to waste that should have left. That waste doesn't sit still — it re-absorbs toxins into the bloodstream. Ayurveda calls this Ama. Modern testing calls it endotoxemia. Both are measuring the same thing.
4. Coffee and dairy are doing too much emotional work
If coffee is what gets your gut moving at all, that is useful diagnostic information — not a coffee habit. It means your natural peristaltic rhythm has flattened. The caffeine is acting as a mechanical stimulant.
Similarly, if dairy or wheat "suddenly" doesn't agree with you, the problem is rarely the food in isolation. A stressed, dysbiotic gut tolerates less. Fix the terrain and the tolerance usually returns.
5. You've tried probiotics, elimination diets, and tests — and nothing held
Most people arriving at our clinic for gut work have already done a lot. Rotating probiotics. Going FODMAP-free. Expensive microbiome tests. The results are promising for two weeks, and then the old pattern returns.
This is because additive approaches fail when the underlying terrain is inflamed. You can't reseed a field that is compacted and waterlogged. First you drain, aerate, and clear. Then you seed.
What an actual reset looks like
A real gut reset is not a juice cleanse and it is not a month of restrictive eating. At our clinic, it is a structured 7-day protocol combining:
- Colon Detox & Hydro Deluxe — three sessions over the week, using closed, FDA-standard systems to gently clear accumulated residue and restore peristalsis.
- Hip Bath Therapy — warm herbal baths on alternating days. They drop cortisol within 15 minutes, which is why digestion improves almost immediately.
- Padha Guasa Neuro Therapy — reflex work on the feet that stimulates the vagus nerve. This is the "rest and digest" signal the gut needs to rebuild.
- Ayurvedic consultation — a day-one full review, personalised food plan for the week, and a take-home protocol.
The order matters. Clear first. Calm the nervous system. Then re-educate the gut with the right foods. Within three days most guests see the evening bloat disappear. By day seven, a regular morning bowel movement is the new normal.
When to just start
If you recognise two or more of the signals above, you don't need another test to tell you what is wrong. Your body has told you. The question is whether the next three months look like the last three, or whether you interrupt the pattern.
A 15-minute consultation is free. If a reset is not the right fit, we will say so.
You don't have a food problem. You have a clearance problem. That is fixable.
